Boomer in Winter
Gerard Sarnat

Firebrand’s heyday,
All flowers can bloom
has been replaced
by a new valence.

Playing in your
or my thermals,
sounds of body parts
tear apart like
Shiva garments.

Life’s morphed
from transparent
to tight then toxic
when I’m opened up
as a cellophane wrapper
on a pack of cigarettes.
